Ambulance Rush is a game released in 2009 by Gametop. It involves you racing armoured ambulances through a city taken over by escaped hospital patients.

Gameplay[]

The player chooses 1 of 3 armoured ambulances. After picking their ambulance, the player has to race through 10 levels (which all take place in a city overrun with mentally challenged patients) and run over as many as them as possible while plowing through traffic without crashing.

Ambulance types[]

In this game, each ambulance has its own weight and armour rate:

  • Hummer: A Hummer H2-based ambulance that has the least armor along with the least weight.
  • Conversion Van: A regular van-like ambulance which is heavily armoured and does the most damage when colliding with others. However, it is slower and heavier.
  • Police Cruiser: A police cruiser-like ambulance that weighs less and has the least armour. Despite its lacking armour, it drives really fast, making it easier for the player to get through traffic.

Trivia[]

  • The cruiser model was used as the player sprite in Hellcops, another game by Gametop, which was released a few months prior.
  • The game has been remastered a few times under the moniker “Mad Doctors”.
  • A mobile version of ambulance has at one point existed under the name “Mad City Race”.
  • The van ambulance is based on a Ford E-350.
