Gameplay[]

In Battle Gear, the player’s main objective, whether they are playing through one of the campaigns or are playing a custom match, is to win the battle by either destroying the enemy base or killing all enemy units on the battlefield. The player will lose a battle if they themselves run out of units or their base gets destroyed. The main part of the game is the multiple campaigns in which the player controls the army of a specific nation and must invade and overtake nearby regions.

Before the player begins each battle, in the menu they can view a “briefing” in order to be best informed on what strategies and units to utilise in the upcoming battle as different terrain and biomes and affect various unit types in both positive and negative ways. In-between battles, the player has the opportunity to upgrade their units stats and power skills as well as purchase new unit types to use in their army. These upgrades are purchase using XP earnt in battles; this XP will be spent however, so it is more akin to a currency.

Troop Deployment Modes[]

  • Random: No formation is made, troops will appear in random locations.
  • Manual: Troops will deploy in an arrow sign formation, can be controlled by clicking W & S or the up and down arrow keys.
  • Defense: Forms a massive wall of troops, deploys after at least 12 units are in the centre of the battlefield.
  • Offence: Troops will attack aggressively.
